Stephen Colbert is "green" too, and I love it.
According to treehugger.com, "....Comedy Central is banking on changing that ["silly" environmental discourse] with their newly launched “Address the Mess” campaign. The campaign includes freshly published AddressTheMess.com, a site incorporating eco-themed tidbits from everyone’s favorite “don’t hate me because I’m beautiful, intelligent and utterly absurd” talk show host Stephen Colbert to clips from the raunch-meisters on South Park."
"The folks at CC are planning to address environmental issues across viewing platforms including the live stand up tours."

I honestly think that this is really cool news. Environmental issues are reaching a whole new demographic, the ones who enjoy getting their "news" from comedians and love to watch South Park and animations/cartoons in Adult Swim instead of watching Grey's Anatomy.

The world is full of paper. Write to me. -- Agha Shahid Ali
14mwsm, yeah i think it's bit scary people watching the daily show or colbert to get their latest fix on current news, but i think this a great idea that will, hopefully, reach a whole different demographic.
15I think its a good way to spread the word to people who don't watch any news at all. And yes, there are people out there who don't watch the news, don't read the paper.
Style Before Comfort!
16Brilliant way to spread awareness.

18I actually do watch the Daily Show for news because they challenge the hypocrisy and idiocy of most of the leading media organizations, as well as the spin that comes out of the White House. They also frequently address issues that have been ignored by mainstream media. I usually go to BBC, the NY Times or NPR for news, but I love that the Daily Show has a unique and entertaining take on the news. I also love that Jon Stewart challenges political guests rather than catering to them. Colbert is really just an entertainment program, but I think he's genius and I'm eternally grateful to him for his White House Press Conference address last year. He was my hero of 2006!
